And he's off
Wee Man crawled properly today - and I was in work so missed it. He wouldn't show me when I got home from work either because he was too busy having cuddles.

We survived!
Week one over and we're all still alive. Actually I quite enjoyed it. I was able to use my brain and do things like go to the loo in peace.
I think Wee Man enjoyed it too. He seems pleased to see me when I get home from work but not frantic which is great (except on the first day when he burst into tears when he saw me - I think he had too many emotions and couldn't deal with them all).
On day two and day four he spent the afternoons with his Gran - I think they both had fun. Plus he's great for him to get used to spending more time with her as she'll be chief in charge of him soon.
On Friday he sat on me and we cuddled and played all day. It was lovely.

Back to work
Tomorrow is my first day back at work. I'm quite excited, but very apprehensive too. It will be nice to use my brain again and have adults to talk to but I am going to miss my little boy to so much. His dad is off for the next few weeks so the change shouldn't be too traumatic (only for me).
I'll report back tomorrow on who cried the most - me, him or daddy :-D

Smug!
We have been letting Wee Man practice crawling on the bed. It's nice and soft so doesn't hurt his face when he uses it to propel himself along. He is up on all fours and rocking so I don't think it will be long before he is doing it properly. One of his little friends started crawling this week so he needs to get going soon - can't let the girls get too far ahead!
He loves it and will do it for hours - two in fact, last night, when he was supposed to be sleeping. He did sleep very well afterwards though so I cant be too annoyed at him.
As part of his crawling practice he discovered that he could move from lying down to sitting up yesterday. Every time he did it he looked so pleased with himself.

Wean me gently
I know I look so big to you,
Maybe I seem too big for the needs I have.
But no matter how big we get,
We still have needs that are important to us.
I know that our relationship is growing and changing,
But I still need you. I need your warmth and closeness,
Especially at the end of the day
When we snuggle up in bed.
Please don't get too busy for us to nurse.
I know you think I can be patient,
Or find something to take the place of a nursing -
A book, a glass of something,
But nothing can take your place when I need you.
Sometimes just cuddling with you,
Having you near me is enough.
I guess I am growing and becoming independent,
But please be there.
This bond we have is so strong and so important to me,
Please don't break it abruptly.
Wean me gently,
Because I am your mother,
And my heart is tender.

A night out - and lots of throwing up
We actually went out this evening - without the baby!
We met friends for a Chinese meal while grandma and grandad babysat. We had a lovely night...except Wee Man wasn't well.
He threw up when he was eating his tea, then again in the car on the way to the in-laws. He was handed over covered in sick. His lovely gran didn't bat an eye and told us to go and not worry. We went but did worry a bit. Only phoned them once though. They phoned us once too but that doesn't count, does it?
Picked him up about 9 and he was awake but happy, he hadn't been sick again. But when we got home he threw up in the hall - thankfully I was able to point him at the floor so not much cleaning up to do. Pukes 4-8 were in the bed though. Poor little thing. We have a mountain of washing to do and I smell of stale milk, but he's finally asleep and hasn't been sick for a good hour. I hope he feels better tomorrow.
Not sure when/if we're going to go out again!
Update: pukes #9 & #10 happened between 4 & 5am. Just got up (8am) and he seems ok so far.
Update 2: spoke too soon. We've had a mega runny poo and he threw up the water he had drunk. Poor little guy.

Easter bunny - take #2
We went to a little party at one of Danny's friends this week. We had a fab time - she had made lots of goodies including cakes (mummy sized and baby sized) and bunny ears!

Drinking and driving
I think mum might have been a bit drunk too because the photos are blurry - or maybe I'm just too quick for her.
I can zoom around really well in my walker now - backwards, forwards, sideways...
Watch your toes when you come round though, I'm lethal!
